Charise Craft

I was born and raised in Michigan with a focus on sustainability. I graduated college in 2016 with a degree in environmental journalism, and have been a journalist for over three years. At the outset of my journalism career, I was drawn to sustainability because I was passionate about the environment growing up. When I started my journalism career, I realized that sustainability is not only about the environment, it's also about social justice, economic growth, and fair trade. This realization has led me to pursue my passion for sustainability by advocating for policies that lead to zero waste and clean energy. I believe that there is power in building community around shared values. That's why I am a part of various organizations such as Zero Waste Chicago and The Green Collar Foods Project that make meaningful strides towards making our country more sustainable while bringing people together through their efforts.
